Golden autumn leaves were turning in early November, with crisp air and a slight chill. It was the perfect time of year for Sophia and Harry’s dream wedding.
THE MORNING BEFORE ‘I DO’
At 9am, Sophia and her bridesmaids arrived, bringing a wonderful mix of excitement, anticipation and a few happy nerves. As hair and makeup got underway, they were in safe hands from the very beginning. The morning unfolded exactly as every wedding morning should – champagne was poured, laughter filled the room with memories shared as everyone soaked up the excitement of the day ahead. If there was ever a picture-perfect wedding morning, this was it. Amy from BTS Bridal was on hand, ready to capture some gorgeous and authentic shots for the couple too!
The bridesmaids looked beautiful in forest green dresses, each in a different style but perfectly coordinated. The rich, rustic tones were made for an early November wedding, complementing the golden autumn surroundings beautifully.
Before long, it was time for Sophia to step into her dress. Wearing a timeless sleeveless gown with elegant, classic lines, a flowing train and a delicate veil, she looked absolutely radiant. With the biggest smile on her face, she was more than ready to walk down the aisle.
One of the most emotional moments of the morning soon followed as Sophia revealed her bridal look to her dad. Overcome with pride, he was almost speechless as he saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the very first time. It was one of those unforgettable moments where there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Meanwhile, Harry and his groomsmen also spent the morning getting ready together. Dressed in smart navy suits with subtle green accents that perfectly complemented the bridesmaids. Before leaving, Harry took a quiet moment to read a heartfelt letter Sophia had written especially for him to open on the morning of their wedding. It was a touching pause amidst the excitement of the day before the groomsmen headed out for a few photos, celebrating the beginning of an unforgettable new chapter.
As the ceremony drew closer, the excitement naturally gave way to a few nerves for Harry as he waited patiently to see Sophia walk down the aisle.
OAK-BEAMED BEAUTY
The Oak Barn had been transformed into the most beautiful ceremony space, with breathtaking views across the rolling countryside providing the perfect backdrop. Elegant silver chairs lined a crisp white aisle, while floating candles, lush foliage and a stunning floral arch overflowing with soft cream and white blooms created an effortlessly romantic setting – all styled by Venue Perfection. It was classic, timeless and simply beautiful.
As guests took their seats, the Didsbury String Quartet welcomed everyone with beautiful live music, setting the tone for the ceremony ahead, adding another layer of magic to an already unforgettable atmosphere.
Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Sophia and Harry exchanged heartfelt vows and finally became husband and wife.
Making their way back down the aisle as newlyweds, they were greeted by an incredible confetti tunnel in the courtyard. The confetti photographs were full of joy, laughter and celebration – one of those moments that perfectly captures the excitement of a wedding day.
After a few family group photographs and group shots, the drinks reception got underway as guests caught up with old friends and met new ones while raising a glass to the happy couple.
With everyone happily mingling, we whisked Sophia and Harry away for some portraits around the grounds. One of our favourite locations was the beautiful country lane leading up to the venue. Framed by towering trees dressed in rich autumn tones of gold, green and brown, it created the most spectacular seasonal backdrop. We captured some wonderful photographs with the bridesmaids and groomsmen before giving the newlyweds a few quiet moments together, resulting in some truly stunning portraits. Jon Thorne beautifully captured every image.
From there, the couple wandered through the venue’s enchanting water gardens, where the autumn colours reflected beautifully across the water. These portraits have such a peaceful, romantic feel and perfectly capture everything we love about an early November wedding.
TIME TO DINE
As the curtains opened to reveal the wedding breakfast, guests were welcomed into a beautifully styled dining room that was both timeless and elegant. Silver chairs, lush greenery, delicate florals, mirrored centrepieces and graceful arches from Venue Perfection came together effortlessly to create a setting that was simply breathtaking. Every detail had been thoughtfully chosen, proving that classic styling and understated elegance never go out of fashion.
The room reflected Sophia and Harry’s vision perfectly – warm, inviting and filled with an atmosphere that made everyone excited for the celebrations still to come. It was the perfect backdrop for an afternoon spent with their closest family and friends.
After enjoying a delicious three-course wedding breakfast by Stableyard Catering, it was time to kick off the speeches. Sophia’s dad shared heartfelt words that had everyone feeling emotional before Harry thanked their family and friends for being part of such a special day. The two best men rounded off the speeches brilliantly, filling the room with laughter as they shared stories and memories from years of friendship.
Before the evening celebrations began, it was time to cut the cake. Their beautiful three-tier wedding cake, adorned with fresh flowers and lovingly made by Harry’s sister, was another wonderfully personal touch that made the day feel even more special. Surrounded by the people they love most, it was the perfect way to round off a truly memorable afternoon before the party got underway.
EVENING PARTY
By 7pm, the evening reception was in full swing and what a celebration it was. The party truly went off with a bang, creating the perfect ending to an unforgettable autumn wedding.
No autumn celebration would be complete without sparklers and fireworks – one of the absolute highlights of the day. Harry and Sophia stole a few quiet moments together as spectacular bursts of red, green, orange and gold fireworks lit up the night sky. Their smiles said it all – they were absolutely thrilled and the photographs from these moments are some of the most breathtaking of the entire day.
As if there wasn’t already enough colour and sparkle, Skyknights Band & DJ, complete with a talented saxophonist, kept the dance floor packed from the very first song. The couple’s brand-new surname shone brightly in illuminated letters by The Added Extra, adding an extra wow factor to the celebration. Evening food from Stableyard Catering kept everyone fuelled on the dancefloor, and guests danced well into the night. Inside the wedding barn, glowing blue and green lighting transformed the space into an electric party atmosphere, providing the perfect finale to Sophia and Harry’s incredible wedding day.
