On the final Sunday in September, we threw open our doors once again to invite all those couples who have an upcoming wedding at Heaton House Farm to meet our favourite suppliers and get some inspiration for their big day.
Our Experience Events are always a big success, but this was the best and busiest yet. We had over 500 guests join us for afternoon of fun, food and festivities – and there was so much to see:
The first things our guests saw upon arrival at Heaton House Farm were three incredible Mini’s – straight out of the Italian Job – right outside the barns. They were brought along by the Italian Job Mini Hire, to show how couples might want to turn up at their wedding in true style.
Then it was on to the welcome drinks. Every guest at our Experience Events gets treated to something special, and this event was no exception.
In fact, we’d been hard at working creating new ideas for reception drinks, so our new Pimp Your Gin display was very popular. A great way to put a twist on the drinks for your big day.
Alongside of this, we’d set up our Rustic Bar, right inside the Oak Beamed Barn, to show couples the various ways they could set up their reception drinks – and the huge choice on offer.
And if that wasn’t enough, for couples getting married in 2019, we opened our new VIP area over in The Old Stableyard Restaurant, for our upgraded wine tasting experience. It was the perfect setting for couples to sit down and choose their preferred wines and fizz for the big day.
Throughout the whole venue, we’d invited several of our suppliers to come and show off their style and creativity.
In the Oak Beamed Barn, Venue Perfection dressed the chairs and ceremony area in stunning lilac voils, to showcase a simple yet highly effective way to enhance the natural beauty of the place.
In our Under The Stars ceremony area, Lily Rose Events had used beautiful pale pink blossom trees and sequin ceremony table clothes to add to the mesmerising feel of the twinkling night sky.
And in our Steeles Barn, both companies had contributed to an array of wonderfully different table decorations, each dressed in a unique style and colour. The tables were framed with a back drop of some fabulous lit-up letters (Mr & Mrs Heaton was very fitting!), provided by Love Lights The Way.
Our carefully selected caterers, Barretts and Vanilla in Allseasons, were here to showcase their incredible range of menus and food ideas. Barretts brought along a unique set up in Steeles Barn too: street food stalls! It was a really amazing way for couples to enjoy their wedding breakfast, one that’s sure to get your guests talking.
It’s definitely a unique, relaxed way of serving food.
For Goodness Cake were also on hand with a mouth-watering display of cakes – and of course, there were lots of samples to try.
Whilst our guests were mingling, they got the chance to listen to a wonderful musical showcase, as Tom Finkhill DJ, Gospel Choir 4 Weddings and the live piano experience all took turns to serenade the crowds, pump up the atmosphere and generally just get us all into the party mood.
Finally, we had a whole host of additional suppliers scattered around the venue for our couples, to make sure they had everything they could possibly need for the perfect wedding.
We’d opened up our brand new pamper room – for the bridal party to get ready in. In there, Dollface Makeup were offering makeup advice, whilst Glorious Tiaras were showing bride-to-be’s the incredible head pieces they might like to wear. Gracie Blue Bridal had some wonderful options for dresses, and Best Man Hire was standing by to help kit the grooms out too!
Meredith Photography was mingling with guests to help advise on the best wedding shots, and David Oakley was providing some wonderful entertainment with his magic tricks.
YSD Media, Eventech and Lightech were all available to chat with guests about the arrangements for their big day, whilst Madrenaline Activities were letting guests try out one of their Segway’s – the perfect idea for a stag or hen party.
All in all, it was an incredible Experience Event, one that definitely gave our all couples plenty of ideas and inspiration for their wedding at Heaton House Farm.
