As the old grandfather clock chimed in our Oak Beamed Entrance Barn, guests flooded in to enjoy a night of magical entertainment and delicious food to celebrate at Heaton House Farm’s Christmas Ball 2016!
Due to the popular demand of our Fairytale of New York Christmas Ball 2015 we had to expand our annual Christmas Ball to take place over two evenings this year, Friday 9th and Saturday 10th December, and welcomed 600 glammed-up guests.
Our guests stepped into the living room of the Stahlbaum House featuring a cosy crackling log fire, a comfy chair and surrounded by the essence of stunning fresh Christmas Trees from our very own Christmas Shop. As they walked through the Oak Beamed Entrance Barn the sound of the clock striking midnight filled the air and the Nutcracker came to life, we were very lucky as we had our very own nutcrackers on stilts from Stage Invaders! It was now time to choose a delicious drink to celebrate their arrival and have a photograph to remember the moment.
Our wedding barn was filled with a magnificent display of light up letters spelling out ‘The Nutcracker’ by Love Lights the Way creating the perfect backdrop for the groups of friends and colleagues enjoying their Christmas Party.
Following the classic novel, our final stop is in the spectacular Land of the Sweets! Steeles Barn was completely transformed into a magical land of candy canes, lollipops, chocolates and all things sweet! To ensure guests could easily find their seats for the evening, one of our recommended stationers, I Do Designs, had kindly put together a wonderful table plan and lovely little nutcracker name cards so everyone could take their seat ready for dinner to be served.
Each year we ask our recommended suppliers and friends in the industry to donate a little something to help make our event so very successful; we give them an idea and let their imaginations go wild with sparks of artistic creation and what a cracking display they put together for us! From gingerbread houses and huge lollipops to ballerina statue’s, our table displays had it all!
We would like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful suppliers who helped make our event look so spectacular: Verdure, Red Floral, Qube Events & Styling, Green Earth Flowers, Venue Perfection, The Mustard Seed, Precious Things Event Styling, Natalie’s Florist, Possibilities and Wild Thyme for taking the time to put these together for us. Our table displays looked good enough to eat! 😉
Our guests relished a delicious 3-course meal, Friday’s guests were catered for by Vanilla in Allseasons and Barretts Events catered for Saturday’s guests.
Our surprise entertainment this year was a very elegant ballerina performance by one of Stage Invaders performers who pliéd and pirouette to her heart’s content through the crowd of admirers to the famous Nutcracker Sugar Plum Fairy theme tune.
Following dinner, the music kicked into full swing with the guests jumping out of their seats and heading straight to the dance floor where most remained for the full evening enjoying musical delights from the Andy Williams Band and party dance classics from Heaton House Farms in-house DJ, Krissi B!
When guests wanted to rest their party feet they could head back into the Wedding Barn to get snap happy in front of Boothtique’s Selfie Mirror! This was the perfect place to make amusing memories where some of the guests had the joy of seeing their boss rock with a blow-up guitar or selfie with a reindeer on their head. (Definitely not one to discuss in the office on Monday!)
We would like to thank everyone who joined us for our wonderful Christmas Ball 2016 and we have already received some fantastic feedback!
“The food was, well I don’t think I’ve tasted better. The atmosphere, the decor, the staff, everything was brilliant. Please thank everyone that was involved in making it such a special night”
“Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the evening. We thought the whole night from the entertainment; food and the decorations in the venue were fab.”
Everyone enjoyed it, the guests, the suppliers and the staff! And we cannot wait for next year!
