Our gorgeous Cheshire wedding venue was shown off around the UK this week, as we were featured on national television on Don’t Tell The Bride.
Were we the poor choice of the groom? Or were we the dream destination the bride would have loved to get married at?
Of course, Heaton House Farm was the venue that the lovely bride Zoe had her heart set on.
Nicola, our amazing wedding coordinator, had her five minutes of fame as she welcomed Zoe and her family to show them around our farm and point out everything the venue has to offer.
Zoe was looking for a beautiful venue for her wedding that felt close and intimate, with a relaxed style. She was eager to find somewhere with open beams.
So after plenty of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ as they drove through the stunning countryside to approach Heaton House Farm, we immediately showed Zoe and her family to our Oak-Beamed Wedding Barn.
Their reaction? “Gorgeous.” It’s intimate, it’s small, “it’s perfect.”
And it really was. Butterfly Events had pulled out all the stops to dress the barn beautifully, with stunning white trees and elegant lines of floating candles.
She also wanted somewhere to have nice pictures outside, and our exterior – with a stunning patio, rolling hills and romantic water gardens – ticked that box. “It’s all really really pretty,” said Zoe.
When Zoe came through into our Steeles Barn, she commented on how our venue was better than anything she could have imagined herself.
The tables for a wedding breakfast were elegantly decorated with a simple, beautiful theme, and we saw a fleeting glimpse of a wonderful display cake – complete with a little Mr & Mrs Strawson on top – made for us by For Goodness Cake.
Zoe hoped that her husband-to-be Evan could do the same theme with his chosen venue, simply arranging some glass vases and candles.
We don’t need to tell you that her plans didn’t align with her fiancé’s!
Summing up Heaton House Farm, Zoe said the venue was “so ideal, so perfect,” and admitted that whatever Evan did could never live up to the expectations she’d gotten from our farm.
Sorry Zoe! We didn’t mean to set your hopes too high!
In the end, the groom opted for the ruins of an old abbey to create a ‘Game of Thrones’ style wedding – a TV show the couple absolutely love.
And whilst it wasn’t at Heaton House Farm, the dream venue for her marriage, she did enjoy her wedding in the end.
We just wish someone had told Evan he could have had a Game of Thrones wedding with us. We can accommodate all types of themed weddings at Heaton House Farm – and we think our staff would have loved to re-create the barns of Winterfell!
