With an incredible barn that can easily fit 300 delegates, it was no wonder the Cultivate Rural Business Conference chose to hold the first event here at Heaton House Farm.
Cultivate is no normal conference, it’s a business conference with a difference and a mission to inspire and grow each delegate in their own rural business.
This one-of-a-kind event delivers specialist expertise, insight, and a focused support that all progressing businesses need to achieve sustained growth – vital to all companies on their journey.
The team at Cultivate, led by Hillsgreen Marketing Consultant’s founder, Andy Venables who grew up on his family’s dairy farm, know first-hand just how important it is to keep up with the forever changing rural sector. Andy himself is very passionate about the rural sector, he founded Hillsgreen, a marketing and business development agency, solely to help rural businesses grow. He also created Mission 4 Milk to help raise awareness for dairy farmers across the UK.
As a countryside, farm wedding venue, we are very proud to have hosted this incredible event, hosted by such passionate rural friends of ours. And what an incredible day it was!
The event welcomed four fantastic guest speakers, each with their own business stories to tell:
Malcolm Smith spoke about how true leadership is about developing a business environment that can create your wealth, Brad Waldron joined us to talk about the 7 habits for highly effective leaders; so after watching these two speakers, our delegates will go away ready to lead their teams!
We absolutely loved reliving the motivational story of Ross McMahon, a dairy farmer who bought Kendal Nutricare from Heinz for just £1 and turned it into a multi-million-pound company.
We also found Jane Lane’s story very interesting, as it’s quite similar to the history of our farm, all about how her family diversified into the exceptional Gloucester and Tebay services which we’re sure many of you will have visited.
The speakers, along with lots of activities and discussions with other delegates, created an amazing day for our guests, and to top it all off, they also enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet in the morning, followed by a visit to the wonderful food stalls served by Stable Yard Catering at lunch! YUM!
