What a fantastic year 2023 has been for us!

by Olivia • January 4, 2024 • Heaton House Team

A huge congratulations to all of our couples who have celebrated their special day with us in 2023, we hope you have some very special memories to take into 2024 as we certainly do!

Our Incredible Events

With the more relaxed rules from the registrars, we had our first ceremonies facing the sycamore tree and they looked beautiful! Alongside weddings we’ve hosted several other events, including Burns Night with the Rotary Club, Dining Nights, open days, and our amazing Experience Events; where we welcome all of our future couples to join us for an afternoon of meeting some of our top suppliers and chatting to our team.

Our festive calendar was busy this year; including our wreath-making workshop with Quirky Flowers, the Rushton School shopping extravaganza, a dining night with live piano from Mark Hendry and our Christmas crafts and carvery day; featuring a live performance from our very own Elsa! And we can’t forget our show-stopping Christmas parties took place, this year with a Northern Lights theme which ‘wowed’ our 900 guests!

Down On The Farm

Did you know we’re still a working farm? Meaning in the spring we welcome newborn lambs and calves, infact it was Farmer Mick’s favourite cow Goggles, who gave birth to the first calf of the year. This year we welcomed our first Charolais calf and we had our first sheep caesarean in the farm’s history! Our new Angus bull, Dev, arrived in September and is now all settled in his new home by our ‘moo-tel’.

Our team love to visit the animals, and our couples love to have the lambs feature on their special day where they have the chance to bottle-feed them!

Our caravan site has been very busy with guests joining us from all over the country to enjoy our countryside tranquillity.

Award-Winning Venue

We’ve had multiple award celebrations:

Our Amazing Team

Our award-winning team have had lots of success this year, which we celebrated at our Staff Sports Night; one of the most comical staff nights we’ve ever had, with egg and spoons, rounders, sack races and tug-of-war. We also celebrated some of the team’s milestones; 10 years working at Heaton House for Saskia, Joanne celebrated her 200th wedding and Nicola her 150th wedding, congratulations!

New Developments

Our private water gardens, which are exclusively for our couples to enjoy together on their wedding day, undertook some developments this year, with a new stone wall along the roadside and new doors leading into the gardens – a popular place for photographers to capture private moments for our couples!

Ryan Murrell Videography joined us to film a brand-new virtual tour of the venue, the team of coordinators did an amazing job on camera presenting each area of the venue – we recommend a watch!

Christmas On The Farm

The festive season at the venue is one of our favourites! The venue looks stunning dressed with real non-drop trees including a 14-foot tree in Steeles Barn where our guests dine, and festive décor which looks stunning for our Christmas weddings.

You may have visited our pop-up Christmas Shop in the past, but this year’s shop was AMAZING! Featuring all the incredible products such as trees, wreaths, locally made tinsel, homemade jams, chutneys, and Christmas puddings and new for 2023 a family photo opportunity – our Santa’s Sleigh!

What a way to end the year, we can’t wait to see what 2024 brings!
