This year, we rolled back to the 70s for the era of Christmas Night Fever at Heaton House Farm! And we can safely say that those four dark December nights with glitz, glamour and plenty of sparkles, captured by Steve Bridgwood.
At 7pm, guests were instantly enchanted as they approached the venue, welcomed by shimmering disco balls and shining stars, with abundant gobo projections by Lightech. Passing through a tassel curtain in hues of pink, purple, blue, and silver, they entered a dreamy disco paradise. Light-up letters spelling DISCO, surrounded by disco balls, a multicoloured foil backdrop displaying a glowing neon sign, for Follow the Call of the Disco Ball, set the tone perfectly, provided by Love Lights the Way. Purple lighting and uplighters from Lightech bathed the space in a vibrant glow, while the Stable Yard Catering Bar team greeted guests with arrival drinks. Guests posed for photos in front of the backdrop, enjoying Prosecco, Peroni and refreshing fruit coolers before stepping into the bar area.
Stage Invaders iconic disco heads and mirror ball performers roamed the space, meeting and greeting guests and adding to the immersive disco atmosphere.
As the curtains drew back to reveal the dining room, guests were left in awe by the breathtaking décor. The space evoked a glamorous disco fantasy, with cylinder vases filled with vibrant coloured water, floating candles, disco balls and lights glowing at their bases by Flossies. Silver sequin runners and tablecloths from Venue Perfection shimmered across the tables, complemented by striking disco ball centrepieces overflowing with bright, bold florals.
The show-stopping feature of the room was a giant glitter ball by Lightech, illuminated with powerful colour-changing spotlights. As it rotated and shifted through hues, it created an effective, retro-style disco lighting effect. Silver, sparkly tassels cascaded from above, forming a dramatic ceiling display!
Our beautiful trees added a festive touch, while mirrored surfaces reflected the light and sparkle throughout the room, bringing the entire space to life!
Groovy Mirror Man was truly a highlight of the evening, creating the illusion of dazzling and sparkling movement as he took to the podium, throwing out some of the best dance moves to absolute tunes of the era. Surrounded by specks of silver light, it was a truly show-stopping moment and a perfect foreshadowing of the incredible night ahead.
Mid-dinner entertainment then wowed guests with an electrifying dance routine by Stage Invaders, dressed in sparkly silver flared outfits and performing to some of the era’s most iconic tracks. The energy soared when they were joined by the Mirror Man and the disco head performer from Stage Invaders, fully immersing guests and encouraging everyone to join them on the dance floor.
To capture even more unforgettable memories, That Prop Guy provided a photobooth, giving guests the chance to snap nostalgic keepsakes. At the same time, the Stage Invaders glitter station and Eventech dance mats invited everyone to practice their moves. It was all about glitter and sequins, with guests dressed to the nines to perfectly match the theme.
Kole Events supplied a stunning sequin backdrop with a glowing Let’s Party neon sign, creating the ultimate photo opportunity- not just for guests, but for our team too!
Inspired by the 70s era, the delicious three-course menu served by Stableyard Catering didn’t disappoint. Our ravenous party guests were blown away and have given fantastic feedback about the food!
To begin: A choice between smoked salmon & prawn roulade or wild mushroom vol au vent.
For main: Slow-braised featherblade steak bourguignon or Bang Bang cauliflower steak.
To finish: To round off the magnificent menu, a showstopping dessert duo was served: ovaltine mousse, cocoa sauce, meringue star, malted honeycomb and rhubarb & custard swiss roll, rhubarb & custard popping candy, crème Anglaise.
Soon, everyone was on the 3D dancefloor from AO Events as the lighting transformed from blues, purples, pinks and silvers into a vibrant rainbow display, bringing the room to life with the most incredible vibe as our guests showed off their best moves!
Wedding Sounds’ sparkly DJ deck and setup elevated the scene, while Nova The Collective took to the stage to entertain guests with an irresistible mix of 70s classics and modern hits, keeping the dancefloor packed all night long.
As they say, time truly flies when you’re having fun, and before we knew it, the carriages arrived to transport our glamorous guests back to reality after the most sensational trip back to the 70s. Our team definitely got into the groove too and had an unforgettable time!
