Heaton House Farm isn’t just a popular venue for weddings you know. In fact, we host a whole range of different events all throughout the year, including the annual Macclesfield Vintage Rally.
Last month, on one rainy Sunday here on the borders between Cheshire and Staffordshire, we welcomed dozens of classic vehicles and historic engines, in a day of celebration for all things automobile related.
The weather definitely wasn’t great, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time at this popular local event.
On display, there was a whole host of vintage tractors (of course – we couldn’t call ourselves a farm otherwise!) and unique lorries – including ex-army vehicles.
From classic Land Rovers and Fords, to brilliantly preserved Tilley lamps and milk churns, it was really amazing to see all these old vehicles in such good shape.
For those in the know, there were lots of steam and stationary engines to admire, alongside stalls selling specialist, hard-to-find parts for repairs on vintage vehicles. They’re very important for keeping these cars, vans and tractors in good working order!
To make sure we were all fed and watered, there was a cake stand set-up by the Women’s Institute, the Milk Bar with teas and coffee, and a burger van.
Despite the weather, it’s a great vintage rally that always attracts lots of visitors – well worth a trip next year!
