Hannah and Dave’s dream August Wedding

by Events • September 17, 2025 • Real Weddings

PLANNING THEIR DREAM WEDDING

Heaton House Farm had been Hannah’s dream venue since she was a child – she contacted us to book a viewing the same day Dave popped the question! When they arrived at the venue, the variety of spaces captured the hearts of the lovely couple, especially the hidden dining room and the surprise it could offer their guests! When it came to picking a date, we had their 5th anniversary available – it seemed like fate!

‘Our favourite part of the venue lawn as we made lots of plans to have drinks, canapés and lawn games outside (and luckily the weather was perfect on the day!)

Themes? There was only one in the forefront of their minds… The Lake District! A special place in Hannah and Dave’s hearts, where they got engaged and made many precious memories over the years! Along with the inspiration of a multicoloured pastel theme from our BEAUTIFUL wedding barn lights, everything was coming together perfectly! With plenty of DIY venue decoration from Hannah, too!

THE MORNING BEFORE I DO’S

At 9am, the pamper room was perfectly set for Hannah and her bridal party to unwind, relax, and enjoy. With glasses of fizz in hand to calm any pre-wedding nerves, they laughed together while Jen from Wildflower Hair Company worked her magic, styling hair as the radiant August sun streamed through the windows.

Hannah’s beautiful dress came from SAS Bridal in Great Moor, where the staff were as supportive as they were friendly. Her vision was simple- she wanted sparkle! With a large wedding party (five groomsmen, five bridesmaids, and four proud pairs of parents), it was important to find styles that suited everyone. The bridesmaids looked stunning in pastel gowns, each a different shade to reflect their personalities, while tying beautifully into the day’s theme.

With everything falling into place, the morning became a chance to soak in those last few quiet moments before the all-important “I do’s.”

Meanwhile, Dave and his groomsmen looked sharp in their suits from Slaters Menswear, eagerly awaiting the ceremony and the moment Hannah would walk down the aisle.

SIMPLISTIC AND TIMELESS ELEGANCE

The civil ceremony took place in our stunning oak barn, transformed into a dreamy vision of romance. Silver tones set the backdrop, while a pink sparkly arch framed the aisle, complete with glowing ‘Happily Ever After‘ letters by Harriet Rose Event Hire. Soft pink and cream florals by Loose Leaf Flower School, elegant blossom trees and a crisp white aisle carpet created a picture-perfect setting for a summer wedding!

When the doors opened, all eyes turned to Hannah as she walked down the aisle in front of their closest family and friends. The emotion in the room was overwhelming- so many happy tears as she made her way towards Dave, ready to begin their forever together.

After signing the register, Hannah and Dave made their joyful exit to ‘A Million Dreams‘ from The Greatest Showman. Outside, they were greeted with a shower of confetti-an unforgettable moment beautifully captured by Joanna Eardley Photography. Guests then enjoyed reception drinks, soaking up the magic of the day after witnessing the newlyweds say “I do.”

The celebrations continued with stunning portraits in the water gardens, a truly memorable part of the day that created timeless keepsakes for Hannah and Dave. Adding to the joy, the couples’ beloved dogs were brought to the venue for some special photographs-courtesy of Colby Dogs, which made the day feel even more personal and complete. Meanwhile, guests mingled, laughed and enjoyed garden games, kicking off the celebrations in style!

DINING IN STYLE

The dining room looked simply stunning. Light-up LOVE letters glowed warmly, while a long, curved top table created the perfect setting for the wedding party to dine together. Guests were welcomed with a unique and personal touch- a seating plan displayed on a map of the Lake District, a nod to a place close to Hannah and Dave’s hearts.

The personal touches were just beautiful- wooden place names, DIY details, and chair sashes adorned with purple blooms from Harriet Rose Event Hire. Lakes Distillery miniatures were gifted as favours with rustic blossom trees, wooden accents and soft florals in shades of pink, purple, cream and white by Loose Leaf Flower School, tying everything together beautifully. Made by BibiBakes, their stunning rustic wedding cake was displayed beneath an arch at the entrance, complemented by a sweet cart by Sweetest Feeling, as an extra sugary delight!

Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course meal served by the brilliant in-house team at Stableyard Catering. Once the plates were cleared, it was time to toast the new Mr and Mrs Bowers. Emotional and entertaining speeches from Hannah’s father, from Dave himself and from the best man filled the room-moving between laughter, happy tears and heartfelt memories that everyone will treasure. Surprise dances and a Mr and Mrs game for the bride and groom made it even more memorable!

ENTERTAINING EVENING RECEPTION

By 7 PM, the evening reception was in full swing. Hannah and Dave shared their first dance- a stunning, heartfelt moment that moved many to tears. From there, the celebrations only grew livelier. DJ Damian Kelly, who also doubled as the day’s videographer and band The Acoustics, kept the dancefloor buzzing with energy, ensuring the newlyweds and their guests danced late into the night.

In true countryside and barn wedding style, our bride and groom took part in a COMPETITIVE round of welly wanging, adding a playful and memorable touch to the evening. After the first dance came the cake cutting, followed by some breathtaking golden-hour portraits as the sun began to set-a perfect finale to a beautiful summer’s day.

‘My favourite part was taking 5 minutes just the two of us to watch the sunset’- Hannah

Hannah and Dave had the most incredible wedding day with us and we are so delighted to have received some lovely feedback from them on the best moments of the day!

Their top tip for couples planning their wedding day is to:

Enjoy every moment! It really does go so fast and we would do it all again given half a chance.
