After a trip to the Yorkshire Dales, and a stern word from Meera to Mitesh as she felt he never organised anything for them both, he told her to keep Saturday 19th May 2018 free.
On that morning, Mitesh took Meera back to the Yorkshire Dales with a picnic in tow ready for a relaxing walk through the hills…
Bickering on the way up, Mitesh kept trying to get Meera to hurry up as so many couples had already passed them. He made a point that no one else could pass them – they had to get a move on!
They reached the top at the perfect moment as Meera heard the chimes from a local church, called for Mitesh and turned around to find him down on one knee!
The surprise could not have gone better and Meera was absolutely delighted.
As soon as they got back, they began planning their special day. Their first priority was to find a suitable venue as they needed a large space for their 300 guests and somewhere with a license to have a small religious fire.
Searching Google for venues in and around Manchester, Meera and Mitesh found Heaton House Farm. They thought it would be the perfect venue for them so arranged a viewing.
They arrived at the venue and were lucky to have the owner, Mick, showing them around who put them at ease straight away. Meera and Mitesh felt confident that Heaton House Farm would be prepared for everything and anything so booked a date!
With the venue secured, they decided on a style that would suit their celebrations. Choosing a clean and crisp theme to complement the venue, Meera and Mitesh opted for white lighting and natural backdrops.
They also chose to have a neutral Mandap as they wanted all the Indian traditional outfits to take centre stage allowing everyone to stand out.
For the evening reception, Meera and Mitesh used centrepieces provided by Heaton House Farm as they loved how elegant and simple they were – characteristics that summarise the pair of them beautifully!
As soon as they saw the Night Sky, they fell in love with the twinkly lights and spectacular space. They knew they wanted to keep this a surprise from all their guests and decided to have a big reveal for their first dance.
With a theme organised, Meera began organising the other aspects of the day. As Heaton House Farm have a dedicated team of wedding coordinators on hand and a list of recommended suppliers, Meera made sure she got lots of advice to help her plan everything.
“We had several meetings with Jo which lasted 3-4 hours and she was absolutely brilliant. She listened to us and sat with us no matter how long we needed her, she was there!”
Meera opted for Payal and Qube Events to help her bring the vision for her day to life! And she is so glad she followed the recommendations from the team at Heaton House Farm as everyone she encountered was really helpful and friendly.
After seeing an advert on TV, Meera decided to visit Wed2Be to search for the perfect wedding dress. She was looking for a simple dress, yet one that oozed elegance… and she found just that! She chose a stunning dress covered in intricate lace…
“As soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one as when I looked in the mirror, I could see myself walking down the aisle in this dress”
Meera paired the dress with a matching lace veil, belt and headband from Wed2Be and some beautiful, ornate sandals from Accessorize for the civil ceremony.
Then, it was time to sort out a suit for Mitesh. They both went to Swarbrick’s Suit Hire with Mitesh’s parents for a look around. Everyone was enjoying browsing the shop and talking to the sales assistant, and before they knew it Mitesh had picked his suit!
He opted for a smart suit with tails and decided that his dad and brother would be in three-piece suits with matching waistcoats and ties to complement Mitesh’s outfit.
With everything else planned, Meera and Mitesh had to make a decision about their civil ceremony. They wanted to have a very personal and intimate ceremony so chose to invite 10 people to Ryecroft Hall in Tameside on the 6th April to witness their civil ceremony.
Now legally married, Meera and Mitesh could look forward to their extravagant day of celebrations at Heaton House Farm.
Their Indian ceremony was absolutely perfect! Meera and Mitesh then took the opportunity to capture some stunning photographs in the grounds before changing into new outfits for their evening celebrations.
Everyone indulged in a delicious meal and then sat back to enjoy the speeches which had everybody laughing!
Meera and Mitesh then took to the floor for their first dance revealing the beautiful Night Sky to their guests. They chose ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran as they thought it truly reflected the 7 years they had known each other and the journey they had taken.
After a huge round of applause, their guests rushed onto the dancefloor to join them. And the dancefloor was packed all night long ending Meera and Mitesh’s day perfectly!
Meera’s Memorable Moment:
“My most memorable moment would be the entrance for the reception party. All the guests were seated, and curtains were closed, Jo announced our arrival as Mr and Mrs Patel and our song White Strips – Seven Nation Army started playing. The curtains opened and I saw the room decorated as we had planned, everything worked out really well for the day and I looked as Mitesh and felt in pure bliss ‘we did it!’”
Advice for future couples:
“I would say that communication between each other is vital and not matter how stressful you get, enjoy planning the wedding together. You will get stressed and there will be arguments but there is something about working together that makes the bond special and your feel connected”
