Roll Up Roll Up To The Greatest Show On Earth – The Heaton House Farm Christmas Ball 2019

by sarah • December 17, 2019 • Christmas Party

Nobody does Christmas Parties like Heaton House Farm, and this year was no exception.

We usually have two sell-out nights for the party, but because of such high demand – from friends, local businesses, and of course anyone who’s joined us for a wedding – this year we had THREE sensational nights – Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Ladies & gentleman, the big top awaits

Each year we have a brilliant theme for our Christmas Ball, and for 2019, it was all about CIRQUE DE NOEL.

Everything you love about the circus with a wonderful wintry twist.

Our guests all began arriving at 7pm, and were immediately greeted by large light up letters provided by Love Lights The WaySpelling out CIRQUE in multi-colour bulbs, it was clearly time to get the show on the road by following the trail of uplighters from Lightech.

With silver drinks tokens in hand, our guests entered carnival alley (our Oak Beamed Barn) heading for the big top (Steeles Barn). The oak beams were all beautifully dressed in red, blue and yellow fabric, wrapped with fairy lights, to give the feel of the walkway into the circus. Thanks to Butterfly Events for this décor.

And down the side of the barn, we had six funhouse mirrors, from Presentation Design Services, encased in sparkly gold trim for guest to admire themselves in (or not) as they headed to the bar.

Photo opportunities galore

As always, our full bar was set up and taking drinks orders, with our famous stag dressed for the occasion in a stripy, colourful top hat. Everyone wanted to get his picture.

We also had four gorgeous white and gold circus silhouettes which proved very popular with party goers attempting to recreate their poses.

Not quite as popular as the fan-favourite though – a photo booth provided by The Jolly Good Photo Company. It was the perfect place to grab friends, family and colleagues and get kitted out with circus themed props. Even the camera was circus themed!

Please take your seats as the show is about to begin

Our event coordinators, suppliers and the entire events team had done an absolutely stunning job of transforming our Steeles Barn into a real-life Big Top circus tent.

Red and white drapes surrounded the dining tables to create the illusion, with tables decked out in black and white linen. Decorations of gold glitter balls and red feather boas were scattered around, whilst others featured an incredible autumnal blossom tree as a centrepiece.

Many thanks to our suppliers for designing and providing these centrepieces:

A huge thank you to our stationers who designed and created circus themed place names and seating plans; Shell’s Bells (Thursday) and Rodo Creative (Friday & Saturday).

Once everyone was seated, it was of course time for the delicious dinner, provided by Barretts Catering. And what a meal it was.

The Opening Act:

Roll Up, Roll Up:

The Big Top Two:

Ain’t no business like show business

Delicious as dinner was, it wasn’t the main event. This was Cirque De Noel after all. It was all about the showmanship and the entertainment.

Our very own Ring Master was on hand to make sure all our performers were truly putting on the Greatest Show On Earth. They did, trust us.

As guests were arriving, they were greeted by brilliant stilt walkers. On podiums around the barns we had amazing contortionists to warm up our guests, before stunning acrobats performed in the dining barn just as everyone was sitting down. All these performers were courtesy of Stage Invaders Entertainments .

During dinner, we had a brilliant juggler walking around and a very entertaining strongman show. Everyone loved it.

But the best was yet to come, with aerial silks performing a sensational act to ‘Never Enough’ from The Greatest Showman. It was mesmerising.

With dinner concluded, the entertainment shifted to our wedding barn and the dance floor. Moving headlights lit up the space while 5-piece band The Rush took to the stage for a one hour set.

Then Rewind Entertainment took over to DJ the night away, with everyone having a truly fantastic time.

What an amazing three nights, and thank you so much to SMH Photography for capturing the event.
