Let’s learn a bit more about Jon Thorne Photography…

Tell us about your company

Jon Thorne Wedding Photography, based in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, started the company over 12 years ago, I travel all over the UK shooting weddings. In a nutshell, the aim is to produce beautiful images of my clients special day, storytelling photographically, documenting the day with a balance between the ‘must have’ shots plus those natural unscripted moments, capturing the emotional tears, the quirks and the laughter.

What is your company motto/mission statement?

Beautiful, stylish & contemporary results, shot in a relaxed manner.

How did you get into your profession?

Originally chief photographer for a newspaper and magazine, working in the press meeting and photographing people from all walks of life in so many different locations, I had no idea at the time it would be a stepping stone to becoming a professional wedding photographer. I declined the offer to shoot a friends wedding but after some arm twisting I did the shoot, from there its history, I enjoyed photographing the wedding so much, 2 years later left full time employment to start my own business.

Professionally, what’s your proudest accomplishment?

Concerned its a cliché but running my own business and receiving positive feedback from clients after photographing their big day, no better feeling!

Do you have a top tip for clients?

Feel comfortable with your photographer the rest is easy

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself

Other than photography, massive love of music, motorcycles and rugby. Regret not learning to play the guitar, determined one day to change this! Fair weather biker, own an old but very clean Triumph Bonneville, modern version not vintage one I’m sad to say, but love it!

What is the best thing about working with Heaton House Farm?

Always made to feel so welcome, nothing is to much trouble, relaxed atmosphere, and stunning backdrops to work with.

Thank you so much to Jon for featuring in our Meet The Supplier blog series!
